Brendan N. Fitzgerald was raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania and attended Temple University.
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in history, Brendan attended the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he distinguished himself academically, graduating cum laude, in two years, instead of three, on an accelerated course of study.
While in law school, Brendan was an intern at the Innocence Project, where he worked towards exonerating people wrongfully convicted of crimes through the use of DNA evidence to prove their innocence.
Upon admission to the Pennsylvania Bar, Brendan opened his own general practice where he took on matters involving civil litigation, business formation, family law, and criminal defense. While operating his own practice, Brendan also maintained a contract with Luzerne County as guardian ad litem, representing children in dependency matters and took court appointed criminal defense cases in Lackawanna County.
In 2017, Brendan joined the team at Joyce, Carmody & Moran, P.C. as an associate attorney where he now practices in a variety of areas including civil rights litigation, insurance coverage, employment law, municipal law, and commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice in all the state courts of Pennsylvania, the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
