Jennifer Menichini joined Joyce, Carmody & Moran, P.C. as a partner in October 2018. Prior to joining the firm, Atty. Menichini spent over a decade primarily representing plaintiffs in employment discrimination and civil rights matters. Atty. Menichini has been admitted to practice since 2005, and she is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. In addition to state and federal court, Atty. Menichini has a broad range of experience in a variety of matters. She has handled many labor and employment matters in various venues, including arbitrations, mediations, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC), the Bureau of Labor Law Compliance, the Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Referee’s Office and Board of Review, the Department of Labor (DOL), the Occupational, Safety, and Health Administration (OSHA), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Workers Compensation Office of Adjudication (WCOA) and Workers Compensation Appeal Board (WCAB). She has handled special education matters, including due process complaints with the Office for Dispute Resolution (ODR). She has also successfully defended an entity against a Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) putative class action in federal court.
Atty. Menichini is also an approved mediator on the mediator panel for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania Mediation Program. She is very active in several bar associations. She currently serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and she serves on the PBA Board of Governors in that capacity. She is also a voting member of the PBA House of Delegates. She was selected as a member of the PBA’s Bar Leadership Institute Class of 2015. She is a Past President of the Middle District of Pennsylvania Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and is a Past President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Lackawanna Bar Association. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Lackawanna Bar Association. Atty. Menichini also serves as statewide co-chair of the Pennsylvania High School Mock Trial Program, and as the Secretary of the Federal Practice Committee for the PBA. She is a member of the Lackawanna Bar Association, Monroe County Bar Association, the Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association, and the Federal Bar Association. Prior to entering private practice, Atty. Menichini also served as an Administrative Law Judge handling DHS appeals, and she served as a law clerk to the Hon. Jonathan Mark, Monroe County Court of Common Pleas. She earned her B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Scranton, and her J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law, which she attended on a full tuition merit scholarship and served as Case Note Editor of the Duquesne Law Review.
Jennifer was born and raised in Pittston Township, where she still currently resides with her husband, Johnny Drahus, their daughter Jemma and dog Jameson.
