Community Work
Joyce, Carmody & Moran has deep roots in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Our attorneys live here, raise families here and have spent decades representing the institutions that hold local communities together: school districts, municipalities and public authorities. Community Work is where we share the work we do beyond individual cases, and the information residents need to take part in decisions that shape where they live.
Data centers in Northeastern Pennsylvania
Over the past two years, developers have proposed more than 20 data center campuses across the region. Archbald alone has five complexes planned, totaling roughly 51 buildings and 13.4 million square feet, in a borough of about 7,500 people. These facilities can bring tax revenue, but they also draw heavily on water, power, land and roads, and they are permanent.
Joyce, Carmody & Moran serves as solicitor to the Valley View School District, whose campuses sit close to two of the proposed Archbald projects. On the district's behalf, the firm has gone to court to make sure those projects go through the full public process the law requires, with the safety of roughly 2,400 students in mind.

Our approach
Our position is simple. Big decisions should be made in public, on the record, under the rules that were in place, with the people most affected in the room. That is not opposition to progress. It is what good process looks like, and it is the same standard we bring to every client we represent.
The same commitment to this community runs through our injury practice. Our free NEPA Injury Help Center answers the questions local families ask after an accident, from crashes on I-81 to injuries in construction zones.
